Scripture: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
A Vision of the Days to Come
I saw a vision of the state of mental health in the years ahead. The burdens of life would weigh heavy on many, and darkness would seek to consume those who have lost their way. But God is calling us to stand in the gap, to intercede for the weary and the broken.
The Lost Champion
I saw a young man standing among his family, yet his spirit was far away. His hands gripped stones, and he hurled them at the houses below. His mind was visibly lost. Then, I saw it, a championship belt. This belt was more than a trophy; it was his purpose, his identity.
There had been seasons in his life when he was victorious when everything he touched turned to success. But now, the belt was gone. Taken from him. He had lost his job, his significance. Others now carried what he once had, and he stood there, empty, forgotten.
Losing what defined him had shaken him to his core. Without it, his mind spiralled into darkness.
Reflection: What defines your identity? Is it your achievements, your career, or your success? When all else is stripped away, is your foundation secure in Christ?
Prayer: Lord, help us to find our identity in You, not in our successes or possessions. When trials come, anchor our hearts in Your eternal love. Amen.
The Broken Staircase
Then my vision shifted. I saw another young man, pacing frantically on a broken staircase. Fear and anxiety consumed him. He stood at the edge, looking down into an endless void. The steps beneath him crumbled; he was barely holding on.
People watched from a distance, but no one moved. Only whispers filled the air: “He’s lost his mind.”
Then suddenly, arms reached out. The embrace of the Father. He cradled the young man in His arms. In that moment, the storm within him stilled. Fear became peace. Despair became hope.
Reflection: Many are standing at the edge, barely holding on. Will we be the ones to reach out, to speak life, to intercede for them? Will we, the Church, be the hands and feet of Christ?
Prayer: Father, may we not be bystanders. Let us be vessels of Your love to those in despair. Give us the courage to reach out, to listen, to pray, to be present. Amen.
A Time of Great Testing Is Coming
A season of loss is coming. Many will lose their “championship belts”, their jobs, their stability, their sense of purpose. Many will stand on that broken staircase, looking into the void. The weight of lost identity will press upon their hearts, and some will fall.
But there is hope.
God is still reaching out. The Father’s arms are still open.
Our Call to Action: We must pray. We must stand. We must reach out before it is too late.
Scripture to Stand On: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
A Prayer for This Season: Heavenly Father, we lift those who are weary and those who have lost hope. We pray for the ones standing on the edge, feeling as though they have nothing left. Lord, intervene. Let Your presence be felt. Use us to be Your hands, Your voice, and Your embrace in this world. In Jesus’ name, Ame
